Middletown High School's football team celebrated a significant victory on homecoming weekend, defeating Valley Central 27-13 at Fowler Field. This win marks Middletown's first home victory of the season, bringing their overall record to 2-5 and improving their divisional standing to 2-1.

The game was particularly noteworthy as it coincided with Monroe Woodbury's first divisional loss of the season to Kingston, dropping Monroe's record to 6-1. This outcome positions Middletown favorably in the race for a playoff spot in Section 9 Class Double A.
