During the recent Rutherford County Board of Commissioners meeting, the board unanimously approved the minutes from the September meeting and proceeded to honor the late Commissioner Joe Frank Jernigan with a special resolution.
Commissioner Jonathan Beverly led the tribute, reflecting on Jernigan's significant contributions to the county over his 22 years of service as a District 6 Commissioner. Jernigan, a lifelong resident of Rutherford County and a graduate of Kittrell High School, was remembered for his extensive involvement in various boards, including property management, agriculture advisory, and public safety.
The resolution highlighted Jernigan's background as a farmer and master beef producer, as well as his retirement from Evedco Textron. He was also recognized as a founding member of the PSL and a member of the Tennessee Titans. The resolution expressed condolences to Jernigan's family, acknowledging the profound impact he had on his community and the sadness felt by those who knew him.
The board resolved to send a copy of the resolution to Jernigan's family, ensuring that his legacy and contributions to Rutherford County are honored and remembered.
