During a recent government meeting, several outstanding students from local school districts were recognized for their exceptional achievements and contributions to their communities.

Marley Marufo, an 11th grader from Agua Fria High School, was commended for his leadership within the JROTC program, where he has held multiple roles including flight commander and color guard commander. Marley has volunteered over 100 hours and led more than 80 community service events, earning accolades such as the outstanding cadet ribbon and the National Sojourner's award. He maintains a 3.75 GPA while balancing his academic and extracurricular commitments.

From Avondale Elementary School District, 7th grader Richard Gonzales was highlighted for his academic excellence, achieving a perfect score on his math AASA assessment and demonstrating high proficiency in English Language Arts. Richard is actively involved in the National Junior Honor Society and Student Council, and is praised by teachers for his kindness and resilience.

Mia Moreno, a 3rd grader from Litchfield Elementary School District, was recognized for her positive attitude and dedication to learning. Mia, who participates in two club sports, maintains straight A's and is noted for her enthusiasm in the classroom.

Jacob Benitez Alonso, an 8th grader from Pendergast Elementary School District, was acknowledged for his leadership skills and commitment to helping others. He serves as the chief academic officer and participates in various community activities, all while maintaining good grades and attending additional math classes at ASU.

Lastly, Davian De Santiago, also an 8th grader from Sun Valley Academy, was celebrated for her academic dedication and community service involvement. As a leader in the National Junior Honor Society, she actively participates in initiatives to support the homeless and animal shelters, excelling in all her academic pursuits.
