In a recent government meeting, officials announced two upcoming community events aimed at fostering local engagement and literacy.
The annual Christmas parade is set for December 6th, with registration currently open. So far, 16 participants have signed up, half of whom will be showcasing floats. This event promises to be a festive highlight for the community as preparations continue.
Additionally, a new initiative to promote reading will be launched with the unveiling of a \"free little library\" at Turtle Park. Scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, at 4 PM, this project is a collaboration with Girl Scout Troop 4155. The library, designed in the shape of a turtle, will be stocked with books by the Girl Scouts, who will also manage the rotation of titles. Community members are encouraged to participate by bringing a book to donate or taking a book to read, fostering a culture of sharing and literacy among residents.
Both events reflect the community's commitment to celebration and education, inviting residents to engage and participate actively.
