During a recent live session from Howard High School, Superintendent Dr. Sims introduced a group of young entrepreneurs who are making waves in their community. The trio, known as Window Magic, are the winners of the local Flex Competition and are comprised of seniors Finn Wakefield, Jaden Adler, and operations head Rick Knollson.

Window Magic was founded just over a year ago, sparked by a conversation in math class between Wakefield and Adler. The business focuses on window cleaning, with the team employing a door-to-door sales strategy to attract customers. Currently, they have around 12 employees, with five working consistently each day.

The students shared insights into their entrepreneurial journey, emphasizing the importance of belief and partnership in achieving success. They highlighted their participation in a work-based learning program, which allows them to balance their academic responsibilities with running their business. This program is particularly significant as it marks the first time high school students with their own business have been able to participate in such a capacity.

Looking ahead, the young entrepreneurs expressed aspirations of potentially franchising their business and continuing their education post-high school. They acknowledged the uncertainty many students face regarding their future paths but emphasized the value of entrepreneurship as a learning experience.

In a message directed at parents, the students encouraged support for their children's entrepreneurial endeavors, suggesting that high school is an ideal time to explore business opportunities without the pressures of adult responsibilities. They credited the Georgia Flex Competition for providing them with valuable exposure and inspiration, noting that it has motivated other students to pursue their own business ideas.
