The recent government meeting highlighted several upcoming community events and a significant transition in local leadership.
On November 1st, the Hearst Senior Activity Center will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a special address from Mayor Wilson at 1:30 PM. Following this, a Veterans Day event is scheduled for November 11th at 1 PM, honoring local veterans.
As the holiday season approaches, city offices will close for Thanksgiving on November 28th and 29th, with adjustments to trash services communicated via the city’s website. The community is also invited to the Christmas tree lighting ceremony on December 3rd from 5 to 8:30 PM at the Hearst Convention Center.
In a poignant moment, the meeting marked the last for council member Cindy, who is relocating. Mayor Wilson expressed gratitude for her contributions, particularly in supporting small businesses and the arts. Her successor, Trisha, will be sworn in at the next council meeting on November 12th, following the upcoming elections.
These events and transitions reflect the city’s commitment to community engagement and continuity in leadership.
