During a recent government meeting, officials discussed several key infrastructure projects aimed at improving flood management and drainage systems in the area. One significant project involves the installation of storm drains along North Drive, which is projected to cost $900,000. This initiative will cover 650 feet and is expected to alleviate ponding issues while also improving the roadway. It is anticipated to benefit 15 structures in the vicinity.

Another project on McLean Street will introduce new storm drainage systems, including reinforced concrete pipes of varying sizes. This project, which ties into a previously completed initiative, aims to enhance the overall drainage capacity and reduce ponding along McLean. It is expected to benefit 24 structures, although officials clarified that it will not address the separate issue of Lake McLean, which is a distinct ponding problem.

Additionally, improvements on Mariposa and Mockingbird streets will involve the installation of inlets and culverts to alleviate capacity issues and residential lot ponding. This project is also projected to benefit 24 structures.
