In a recent government meeting, the city of Katy celebrated the achievements of the Arissoy Classical Academy, which secured the prestigious 2023-2024 Texas Cup and the Texas Charter School Academic and Athletic League (TCSAA) flag football state championship. Mayor Pro Tem Chris Harris and Council Member Roy Robertson, who requested the agenda item, expressed their gratitude to the team, coaches, and fans for their dedication and success.

Council Member Robertson, an experienced figure in youth football, shared insights into the evolution of flag football, highlighting its growing popularity among both boys and girls. The meeting also addressed a public hearing regarding an amendment to the city zoning ordinance, which would establish a special use permit for the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), the King's Palace, at 5371 East 5th. This proposal aims to facilitate the church's operations within designated commercial districts.
