During a recent government meeting in Beavercreek, Ohio, city officials discussed several resolutions and ordinances related to the Dayton Senior Road Widening Project, focusing on property appropriations necessary for the project’s advancement.
The meeting began with discussions surrounding Resolution 24-46, which pertains to the appropriation of property owned by Kelsey Baker. The city rejected a counteroffer nearly $50,000 above the initial offer, prompting the representative to suggest moving forward with appropriations. The council unanimously approved the resolution.
Following this, Ordinance 24-35 was introduced, which accompanies the previously passed resolution. The council moved this ordinance to a second reading without public opposition.
Resolution 24-47 was then presented, aimed at acquiring property from the estate of Jacqueline Jacobs Meggar and Clara Wannell Jacobs. The council noted that the matter is currently in probate court due to the passing of one of the co-owners, which has delayed progress. The council approved the resolution, allowing for continued efforts once probate issues are resolved.
The meeting continued with Resolution 24-48, which addresses property owned by Michael and Teresa Zeljak. The council highlighted ongoing negotiations, as Mr. Zeljak has requested improvements to his property that exceed the project’s scope. The resolution was also approved.
Resolution 24-49, concerning the appropriation of property from Mark D. and Amanda A. Violet, was discussed next. The council noted that safety concerns regarding a proposed driveway have complicated negotiations. A traffic study recommended relocating the driveway to enhance safety, which the council will communicate to the Violets. The resolution was approved unanimously.
The meeting concluded with the council moving several ordinances related to these resolutions to second readings, indicating a commitment to advancing the Dayton Senior Road Widening Project while navigating the complexities of property negotiations.
