In a recent government meeting, significant achievements in the arts and music education were highlighted, showcasing the accomplishments of local student ensembles. Under the leadership of Mark Minton, the Pantherland ensemble recently triumphed at the NSU Classic, earning the title of grand champions.
Following this success, the group competed in the Louisiana Music Educators Association State Marching Championships held in Lake Charles, where they secured a commendable second place, earning the title of reserve champions.
Additionally, Parkway High School received an invitation to participate in the prestigious 2025 Music For All National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. This event is known for celebrating the nation's top middle and high school ensembles, with nearly 100 submissions received this year. Only 23 ensembles were selected to perform, marking a significant honor for Parkway High School and highlighting the excellence in music education within the community.
