In a recent government meeting, officials approved a special use permit for Holloway High School to construct an 1,800 square foot greenhouse intended for plant science courses. The proposal, presented by Mister Donavan, was deemed compliant with the RSA zoning district regulations, which allow such educational facilities as special use permits.
The greenhouse will be situated on the school's existing parking lot, necessitating the rearrangement of parking spaces, resulting in a loss of approximately ten spots. However, the school maintains adequate parking, exceeding the required standards. The project also includes relocating a light pole to accommodate the changes.
Staff members reviewed the application and recommended approval, contingent upon the submission of a detailed site plan to the planning department prior to the issuance of building permits. This plan must include civil and landscape designs, photometric details, and building elevations to ensure compliance with zoning ordinances and design guidelines.
During the meeting, no public comments were made against the application, and it was unanimously approved by the board members present. The next item on the agenda involved another special use permit request for the expansion of an existing institutional use at a public high school in an RS 15 zone, also represented by Anna Maddox of Barge Civil Associates.
