In a recent government meeting, the board conditionally approved two significant applications concerning property developments in the township.
The first application, submitted by Richard Landrum for the property at 44 Woodland Drive, sought minor subdivision approval and variance relief. The board granted the application with specific conditions, including a prohibition on short-term rentals for a one-story block structure on the property, mandating a minimum rental term of 175 days. Additionally, the board stipulated that no development could occur on a proposed lot except for a retaining wall, and that certain lots must remain jointly owned to prevent separate sales. A tree removal permit will also be required before any trees can be cut down on the proposed lot.
The second application, from John Saxon regarding 34 West Hanover Avenue, aimed to convert part of a detached garage into office space. This application was also conditionally approved, with strict limitations preventing the garage from being used as living quarters, including the installation of kitchens or sleeping areas. The garage's sewer and water lines must connect to the main house, prohibiting separate connections.
The meeting also addressed upcoming public hearings, including a postponed application and a new proposal from Shannon Marshall for a partial second-story addition at 9612 Sydney Ridge Drive, which will require several variances due to setbacks not meeting the required standards.
These developments reflect ongoing efforts to manage land use and zoning regulations within the township, balancing property rights with community standards.
