During a recent city council meeting in Summers Point, key resolutions were addressed, including the acceptance of a council member's resignation and the appointment of a new member.

The meeting commenced with Mayor Tapp and other officials present, ensuring compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act. A motion was made and approved to add Resolution 220 to the agenda, followed by a decision to prioritize Resolutions 206 and 218 for discussion.

Resolution 206 involved the resignation of Council Member Joseph McCarrie, which was unanimously accepted by the council. Following this, Resolution 218 recognized Kirk Garrity as the new council member at large. Council members expressed their enthusiasm for Garrity's return, highlighting his experience and contributions to the city. The resolution was also adopted without opposition.

Additionally, the council heard an update from Matthew Barnaby, a Life Scout from Troop 55, regarding his Eagle Scout project. Barnaby completed a project involving the painting of Maltese crosses in front of fire hydrants, demonstrating community engagement and project management skills.
